Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house which has a combined gross house earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence earnings will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with nsfas check combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
